Established in 1791, Horrockses was for two centuries one of the most influential and important cotton yarn and cloth companies in the UK, being one of the largest cotton suppliers to the world for over 160 years, and one of the biggest employers in the North West of England.
The company won international awards for their fine quality cotton, and the mills were regulary visited by Kings, Queens and dignitaries. The annual cotton output reached enough to stretch around the world!
The iconic dress collections, were sold through department stores, multiple chains and ‘madam shops’. They gained a royal and celebrity following, through limited edition designs, high quality fabrics and exquisite styling. Horrockses dressed the Queen and Princess Margaret, Joan Collins, Katherine Hepburn, Anne Crawford and Vivian Leigh to name a few.
The press frenzy that followed rivalled today’s, and sealed Horrockses’ position as the go-to brand of the time.

The brand has been respectfully recreated and offers licensees an extensive archive of vintage prints, which will adapt beautifully to a vast range of products from fashion to homewares. The trend towards retro and vintage styling makes Horrockses yet again a contemporary brand to develop. The Partnership is looking to extend Horrockses with select licensees on a global level.
