Bohemian, Chic, Ethnic
Inspired by the intrinsic beauty of fabric, colour and technique, Monsoon draws on the cultures of the Far East and other far flung places.
The Monsoon style is known for its feminine and eclectic influence which is a fusion of old meets new, East meets West.
Monsoon started life in a small store in Londonís Beauchamp Place in 1973 after Peter Simon, the founder, completed an epic road trip around Asia. Peter was inspired by the indigenous crafts and exotic fashions which were to become the signature style of Monsoon. There are now 360 Monsoon stores worldwide, with 240 in the UK alone, with presence in the European, Middle East and Far East markets.
Monsoon Children was introduced to the collection and now has 434 stores worldwide with 116 in the UK alone. Monsoon Children celebrates being the UK high street market leader in childrenís occasion-wear.
A profitable and fast-growing business, the Monsoon brand is heavily advertised, with consistent PR coverage at over £27m and communicating regularly with over 1.5 million loyal account card holders.
The Monsoon core range includes apparel and accessories for women and children. Tabletop, fragrance, toiletries, wallpaper, wall art and bedding have successfully launched under license and have achieved significant international distribution. The next phase of Monsoonís licensing programme will focus on further expansion in to a wide variety of home categories.
